چکیده

Sometimes, in dynamic games, it is useful to reason not only about the existence of strategies for players, but also about what these strategies are, and how players select and construct them. We study dynamic games with simultaneous moves, repeated normal form games and show that this reasoning can be carried out by considering a single game, and studying composition of “local” strategies. We study a propositional modal logic in which such reasoning is carried out, and present a sound and complete axiomatization of the valid

Dynamic Competitive Supply Chain Network Design with Price Dependent Demand and Huff Utility Function

This paper develops a two-stage model to consider a franchise/franchisee environment in which supply chains are simultaneously entering the untapped market to produce either identical or highly substitutable products and give franchise to franchisees. Customer demand is elastic, price dependent and customer utility function is based on Huff gravity rule model. The supply chains, in the first st...

Stochastic Games with Unbounded Payoffs: Applications to Robust Control in Economics

We study a discounted maxmin control problem with general state space. The controller is unsure about his model in the sense that he also considers a class of approximate models as possibly true. The objective is to choose a maxmin strategy that will work under a range of different model specifications. This is done by dynamic programming techniques. Under relatively weak conditions, we show th...

Monte Carlo Planning in RTS Games

Monte Carlo simulations have been successfully used in classic turn–based games such as backgammon, bridge, poker, and Scrabble. In this paper, we apply the ideas to the problem of planning in games with imperfect information, stochasticity, and simultaneous moves. The domain we consider is real–time strategy games. We present a framework — MCPlan — for Monte Carlo planning, identify its perfor...

Games as Factorization Systems

Winskel has explored how to use event structures to build a bicategory of games and strategies, for use as a model of computational processes in a “next-generation” denotational semantics [15]. Out of this work came the discovery of necessary and sufficient conditions on maps of event structures so that these special maps (called strategies) form a bicategory with the copycat strategy as its ps...
